Wounded Warrior Project

As many of you may know, we are closely affiliated with our military men and women who are serving and have served overseas. This is just not a personal project, this is a life-changing organization that helps our veterans and their families in the aftermath of war's effects on their lives. What does the Wounded Warrior Project do? Here is the link to their website:

Our friend, Amy Vencl, is participating in the Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser by running in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC. Here is the link to her page for the team Red, White and Blue where donations can be made:

Why is Amy doing this? What difference can she really make? Let me tell you, it makes a big difference. Just morale alone can instill new hope for better times and a comradely amongst the soldiers they can't achieve elsewhere. Just hearing of her participation alone has instilled smiles and donations from around the country. Please help us help Amy get to her goal of $10,000 for this event.

What does Amy have to say? Here she is:

"Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page!

In my 9 years in the Army, through multiple deployments, I have been honored to work along side my friends and associates who have sacrificed so much to to support our country. I would like to ask you to sponsor me for the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon to support those who have been wounded in these efforts. I have the utmost respect for these people and I want give back to them for the example of honor and sacrifice they have set for me.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fund-raising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Please send this link to as many people as you can so I can raise as much money as possible to support the efforts of Team Red, White, and Blue, and organization supporting wounded warriors.

Thank you so much.

Amy Vencl"

On a personal note, I asked Amy how she got involved with this project:

"The guys get hurt and I never know what to do. I am just that chick that works down the hall. So I figured I am fortunate enough to still have use of all my body parts, I will not take that for granted and go do something physical to raise money for them. All those guys get hurt and I still see them out there doing PT and stuff so I should be more than able to complete a simple run to support them."

Just so you know, Amy works closely with our highly trained soldiers, not on the shirt-tails of our military boys, but right along side of them. Her humbleness in her work and thoughtfulness for others is not going unnoticed.

Thank you for your time and your donation would be GREATLY appreciated.

You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your donation directly from the organization.

Please forward this on to your friends to support this worthwhile cause.

Sincere thanks and appreciation,

Kerra Lindsey
